Toronto mansion/concert hall package up for $19.5M

Luxury properties for sale are not unheard of in Toronto’s red-hot real estate market, but probably nothing as grand as the 17,000-square-foot “Integral House” has ever gone up for grabs.

Setting this listing apart from other high-end offerings is that it comes with its own 200-person concert hall, and the whole package is now available for $19.5M—a genuine bargain, taking into account the $34 million used for its design and construction by Shim-Sutcliffe Architects in 2009.

Integral House

The expansive mansion, situated at 194 Roxborough Drive, once belonged to renowned musician and mathematician James Stewart, who passed away in 2014. The “Integral House” boasts of calculus-inspired features, a design philosophy that has led Glenn D. Lowry of the New York’s Museum of Modern Art to declare the property as “one of the most important private houses built in North America in a long time.”

“We need to find someone who wants to be associated with it, who may not want to reside in it, but will view it as a piece of art. Because it is a trophy property,” Sotheby’s International Realty’s Christian Vermast told the National Post.

Apart from the concert hall, the home comes with an indoor pool, a private elevator, a steam room, a 3-car garage, 8 parking spaces, and much more. Interested parties can get in touch with Paul Maranger of Sotheby’s International Realty at 416-960-9995 or at pmaranger@sothebysrealty.ca.
